Kanjo has been orphaned by HIV / Aids. Nyah looks healthy, but suffers occasionally from malaria which she receives treatment through the help of the Aunt. Presently she is attending Primary Education. Nyah and her sister Blessing lost both parents the same year 2004. Since then, they lived with their 77 year old grand mother until when her health became increasing poor, they moved to Mama Patience, an Aunt’s house who stays alone with three of her own children. Patience now with 5 children, lives on subsistence agriculture to take care of the family she has inherited. Her very meager income is grossly insufficient to take care of the educational, health and livelihood needs of the household. Patience is a subsistent farmer who had been separated from her retired husband. Highly desperate situation, which needs assistance for schooling, medical care and nutrition.

Randolf looks healthy, but suffers occasionally from malaria and nose bleeding. He understands and speaks very little English. Desires to be a Motor Mechanic. Randof lives with his grand mother and brother Desmond Nformi in their grand father’s two-room house. His elder brother dropped out of school after the father’s death to look after the mother who too died three years after in 2005. With the health of their grand mother deteriorating, the future of Randof and his brother is very uncertain. They have no source of income but for goodwill. Their grand mother is 75 years old and suffers frequently from backaches and cough.

Nelson and his elder cousin Brain up to December 5th 2007, was living with his 74 year old Grand father. Unfortunately he died of liver disease on 5 December 2007. Presently he is staying with his 68 year old grand mother who is also ill. They live in an old corrugated sheet roofed house which the grand father had built. With no finances and the failing heath of the grandmother, Nelson and the cousin’s education were suspended this second term and he is not sure when his fees shall be taken care of for him to continue. Nutrition wise, they hardly can afford two meals a day. Any support shall provide a lot of hope to this family. Emelda’s family live in a two room mud house. It is not cemented, wet and cold. They have one bed and no other furniture in the house; no electricity so are in darkness as from 6 pm.They nave a grass kitchen. They fetch water from a running stream in a forest about 1 km away from the house. To ameliorate their living condition, Emelda, two of her brothers, Wepnje (10 years) and Clovis (8 years) sell for a woman and other traders on market days for a day’s wage. These children thus suffer from child labor and exploitation.
